ooh ooh lizzy (little sister) and i went to a white stripes concert tonight. hehe, we were standing up dancing most of the time…lots of dissonance, screechiness, wild craziness…it was ubercool. they played their popular songs, some more obscure ones, some ones i didn’t know…and a bob dylan song!
o wow, that was awesome. “love sick”, from time out of mind. they played it quite differently from dylan’s studio version, possibly better. a lot sharper, more sarcastic, younger. they almost didn’t catch the softness dylan sings into it, until the last few lines. fairly awesome.

operalicious
i went and saw la damnation de faust tonight. it was crazycool.
the music was pretty…berlioz == mmm. the costumes were slightly surreal (giant gargoyle-esque masks, anyone? beetlejuice faust? bozo-the-clown mephistopheles?) and there was this awesome little poodle character. yeah! a poodle. well, a person in a poodle costume. with glittery red eyes! that was probably the coolest part. and of course, the sets were cool. not as cool as the david hockney tristan und isolde…but cool.
and the faust story is neat anyway…mmm metaphors…

school.
my classes:
- algebra 2: already took the first semester of this. we’re even using the same book. boooring. the teacher seems ok, though.
- chemistry: might be interesting. supposed to be difficult. yay. teacher seems cool.
- us history: could be ok. i think the teacher’s communist.
- american literature: already took this class. boooring. teacher might be nice.
- journalism: has the potential to be awesome. wonder if i can get extra points for blogging. hehe. teacher seems overworked but people say he’s cool. i am excited about this class.
- spanish 3: already took this class. boooring. my elective is spanish club, which my friends and i picked because it seemed to be have the best potential for sitting around and talking and doing nothing. so i expect this teacher to dislike me. haha.
