pozzoli number twenty-five
i tuned my harp today.
touch(1) [unixy thing] changes/modifies file access dates. too bad it doesn’t work in real life…apparently i can’t go back in time four months by touching my harp. i have blisters on eight of my fingers.
yay!
.
oh yeah. and irc is the coolest thing. maybe ever.
out of seventy feeds in my netnewswire lite, i’ve chatted with approximately fifteen of the authors. hoorj!

loaf is kung-fu
the xml schema of the future: LOAF!
seems promising. i mean, i can keep track of chocolate/linux/woolly mammoths now, fully integrated and networked with everyone else’s. maybe we could even add fire in there someday! it is truly the interconnectedness of all things, the awakening of *real* xml. and easy to parse, too!
until CUPCAKE, anyway.

wikilicious
yay! the text section is now a wiki. an empty wiki.
why?
because the “poems” were crap.
what’s the wiki about, then?
i dunno yet.
probably nothing.

human pork buns
i ate dinner with four college professors tonight. not that it’s unusual for me. since i was six or seven years old, i’ve eaten dinner with college professors regularly. lots of them.
tonight, it was a political science professor who specializes in china & cinema, a sociology professor studying familial conflict, a psychology professor who wrote a book about marijuana, and my dad who does stuff on los angeles culture.
it is awesome to live on a university campus. i love these crazy professors i’ve grown up with. i’m usually the only kid sitting there listening. just…absorbing.
ten years of these long dinner discussions have shaped me almost as much as all the books i’ve read have. just sitting there and absorbing these people’s love for knowledge…
it’s like…they’re scholars first, and then teachers. the teaching is just a way to return the knowledge they have…it’s a side product, not the real point of being a professor.
i don’t even remember much of what they talked about tonight. but it doesn’t matter…
ramble ramble. i just had to get out the coolness of all this.

os x forever
five (or six) applications that i’ve been having far too much fun with recently:
acquisition. mmm, easy filesharing. why did i stick with limewire for so long? i’ve downloaded approximately 160 songs in the week or so since i got it…
hog bay notebook. yeah yeah, voodoopad is cool with the wiki-ness and all, but i like hog bay notebook too! i have one notebook for thoughts and half-finished posts & another for code bits…it’s quite great. actually, maybe i’m just using it because voodoopad mysteriously quits every time i open it…a few other things mysteriously quit too…it’s probably the weird haxies i install that are messing things up. arrr.
iconographer. wheee! i’m using it more for making weird pixel art than making real icons, though…maybe later.
pixadex & candybar. the 39 mb of icons i’ve downloaded and the appearance of my dock should give some indication of how much time i’m spending with these…
ooh, and some more fun: photoshop 1.0 (at the bottom of the page)! it’s 732 kb. hehe.

the revolution will be live
bob dylan & the flaming lips in my earphones, c++ in my head, sitting in the car next to the japanese gardens, blogging on the ibook. in san francisco. oh yeah. the only thing i need is a wireless card…
camp was rather cool. that nerdy-teenager yearning for fellow nerdy-teenagers was fulfilled for a couple weeks. being near guys who speak leet out loud (enough to be annoying), who have heard of nethack, who say “who cares if the validator doesn’t like every bit of your html! machines can’t judge art!”, who make awesome command-line jokes, who read slashdot at +5…much fun. as was learning c++. blah blah blah. insert cheesy stuff here about forgotten smiles and happy eyes.
i want to write something deep and meaningful about the experience, something that other people might want to read. i have something cool to write about (two weeks of computer camp). not enough maturity, experience, etc, i guess. my place in the blog world is with the other sixteen year old girls…typing inane crap about my day, not being pseudo-meaningful like the twenty-year-olds. blah.
i want to go work on that last weirdo program thingy my c++ partner and i didn’t get to finish debugging…but must check email first to see if he’s figured it out already.

it even has yoda in it
pruning down the silliness around here…it needed it. too much old crap. not enough new crap. less information on the ~ page…who cares? only a few things in text left…too many of them were too old, too dumb. same with the pixelage. arrr. still lots of hypertext though. i’m good at linking. a href master!
hmm…and now for something completely different. is it weird how when i copy something, to paste into something else, it sticks in a certain corner of my mind…how there is an almost-physical weight on a certain bit of my mind, compelling me to paste it down quickly into its intended place, before i (oh horrors) copy something else and overwrite the precious bit of text!
