i am teh very strong
it is…crazy cool music day! first, the songs of turbo…a band from mexico. “me siento morir” is crazy catchy, even though i only understand half the words…and “february stars” is way better than the original (yes, i downloaded the original in hopes i would discover a new band i liked…but oh well).
next, terror of minds alike’s music (scroll down a bit, on the left). the “terror”, “half-life”, and “happy voices” songs are my favorites. the links on the official page don’t appear to be working, though…so here’s happy voices & homestar runner… instant message me if you want the others.

hmm
if i could figure out how to do the imagery and musings pages without iframes, i’d have a valid xhtml 1.1 & css2 site. hm. it will have to stay just xhtml transitional for a while…oh well.
and yes, things don’t quite work. commenting, for example. i have to figure out how to put blosxom on here and make it work, instead of just statically rendering things. wikieditish doesn’t work either, but that’s because of the pizza box ghost. not that you would notice wikieditish, anyway.
word of the day: eidolon.

angeleno culture night
yeaaah so this aftenoon my dad, his girlfriend, and i went to see culture clash at skylight books, in los feliz (part of los angeles). it was awesome, of course. skylight books is always cool. it was like…a bit of dramatic reading from their new book, some talking, lots of interesting ideas about race/ethnicity/culture/blahblah all that cool interesting stuff. the best part: a scathing monologue from the point of view of the washington dc panda. whee! i think i was the only teenager there. it was mostly aging hipsters.
then we ate dinner at fred 62 (link is to a weird review) …place of the best no animal burger ever. noisy music and crazy cats. quite hip and all that.
then, sarah joined us and we all drove to a little parking lot in some anonymous bit of west los angeles (sarah’s friend was there too) and watched 12. bizarre crazygreat movie. greek gods, the importance of being earnest, shakespeare, los angeles, catalina island, all this crazy stuff in a somewhat abstract way. much fun.
and then we ate dessert at some little thing in west la. and went home. and now sarah and i are going to go watch some ranma 1/2! whee!

the funny candidates get +1
there’s this weird mob mentality thing that takes over my mind when i’m voting on bash quotes…i tend to vote up ones with high ratings, vote down ones with low ratings, and leave middle ones alone…is it that i am just the average person reading bash? or do i feel some strange pressure to vote with the crowd, as if my votes were not anonymous? when i’m old enough to vote in elections, will this…phenomenon…occur again? hmm…
more fun with the dock! meandering iconfactory’s links produced more interesting icons, so i replaced some of the older ones…

oh yeah: desktop from zeldman. dock prettiness from transparentdock.
i had some awesome things going on with candybar, but then applications not always in the dock weren’t opening properly. so back to the default system icons. oh well.
